Sarawak Maintains High-Income Status for Third Consecutive Year

Sarawak has been categorised as a high-income state by the World Bank for the third consecutive year, seven years earlier than targeted. The state recorded a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita of RM73,100 in 2024, maintaining its position as fourth-placed in the national ranking.

In terms of revenue, Sarawak recorded an income of RM14.2 billion in 2024, the highest in the State's history and a two-fold increase from the pre-2017 figure.
